Charlotte Coles is the newest addition to the cast of “Paper Empire,” a show that revolves around financial intrigue and deception. In an exclusive interview, the British actress discusses her excitement and the challenges she faces as she takes on the role of Genevieve Quinn, an Interpol officer dealing with cybercrime and global organized crime.

Coles is a talented actress with a diverse background in film, television, theater, modeling, and commercials. She graduated from the prestigious Arts Educational drama school in London with a first-class degree. Coles has appeared in notable projects like “IT. Chapter 2” and Amazon Studios’ “Good Omens.” She has also worked in theater productions such as “Our Lonely City” and “Coriolanus.”

Charlotte Coles expressed her enthusiasm for joining the cast of “Paper Empire,” highlighting the allure of the show’s intricate narrative. “I’m very excited to tackle such compelling and detailed narratives… Deception is always something that glues the public to their screens, and Paper Empire certainly will do that. It’s a fantastic show full of twists and turns and I’m thrilled and honoured to be a part of it.”

Discussing her character, Genevieve Quinn, Coles shared, “Quinn likes getting her hands dirty and really gets stuck into her field work and undercover missions, which has been a joy to play… I also love that in Paper Empire we get to see her go a bit rogue and push the boundaries of what is expected of an Interpol agent in their job description.”

On preparing for a role deeply embedded in the world of cryptocurrencies, Coles noted the necessity of extensive research. “It required a lot of extensive research as I needed to know the ins and outs of the crypto world… What I also found inspiring was Robert Gilling’s knowledge on the subject, as the writer and creator of the show it’s obvious how much he knows… Paper Empire is incredibly high stakes and high drama within the financial world, and follows all the gritty relationships that lie entangled within.”

Coles is excited to tackle such a complex narrative and describes her character, Genevieve Quinn, as a fiery and feisty Interpol officer who is not afraid to get her hands dirty. She had to do extensive research to authentically embody Quinn’s expertise in cryptocurrencies. Joining the ranks of celebrated actors like Kelsey Grammer, Denise Richards, and Wesley Snipes, Coles described the experience as both daunting and incredibly exciting.

Reflecting on the star-studded cast, Coles admitted to feeling both daunted and excited. “Daunting perhaps?! But incredibly exciting of course as well. The list really is endless with this show, the cast list is unbelievably impressive which is a testament to the writing and the show as a whole, and I am thrilled that I could be a part of it alongside them.”

Not one to ignore the challenges faced during filming, Coles highlighted the complexity of the financial language. “The financial language as I mentioned above was definitely a challenge for me at first… But after understanding more of how Quinn works and her knowledge etc, it helped me ease into the character and the situations she is put in more.”

Coles expressed profound excitement and a sense of honor in joining the cast of “Paper Empire.” She appreciates the show’s ability to weave complex financial and ethical dilemmas into its fabric. Her keen interest in the narrative’s depth and the quality of its writing sheds light on the intellectual engagement and challenge the role presents to her as an actress, offering audiences a glimpse into the passion and dedication behind her contribution to the series.
