Music has power. It has the ability to influence people into feeling a variety of moods with different genres, wake people up with some poppy music, make one feel strong at the gym with a hardcore pump-up song, and bring back memories of moments long gone. Throughout childhood, music is made even more predominant. On a prolonged duration of exposure to music, it shapes a child’s identity and later allows the child to be fluent in musical self-expression.
Such is true in the case of the rising star Caron AKA Ronnie. He was born as Timothy Caron Jordan Kirksey Lanier in Cambridge and raised in the 978 area of Lawrence and Lowell in Massachusetts and his family and close friends, those that know him call him Caron. He is somewhere in the middle of a total of ten children born to an exceptionally talented musician. They all were raised with music that was always present from infancy until adulthood.
His musician father was the one to teach him to sing and play the keyboard. He was also one to foster his children’s love for music and encourage them to venture into it. It was not just Caron’s father that was in full support of him. He has long been in the world of music for the fun of it and the opportunity for self-expression, and once he reached that turning point and decided that the path to stardom was the path he is meant to take, all his family and friends have been nothing short of supportive.
Caron is admired for his strong work ethic and unpredictable creativity, which gives his music that unique twist. When a person’s loved ones are in full support of him, it gives that person an immense boost of confidence to work hard toward his goal. In due time, Caron’s hard work and vision as a rap artist will inevitably flourish.
With a growth-oriented vision and a disinclination for competition, he considers only himself to be the only one he has to surpass. Instead of viewing his co-artists as competitors, he prefers to view them all as inspiration and motivation to improve himself.
Inspiring his fans is one of his primary goals. Through his music, he wants to show them that they can always finish any race they start and that their goals are within reach only for as long as they keep moving forward. He wants to convey this mainly to the lost and underserved, who feel like their voices cannot be heard and think that their efforts are futile. Those who struggle are the ones who motivate him most through his desire to pull people out of the depths.
Caron’s Spotify page is relatively new, with its earliest track released only February this year. His most-streamed tracks are “Bounce” and “Touchdown,” both with thousands of streams. Since his first release, he has made an EP entitled Change, with four title tracks. The first track is entitled “I Got Heart (Intro)” and was Video Directed by 1iVisuals as a music video on Youtube.
