I recently had the fortune to meet my new inspiration, serial entrepreneur Cloe Luv. She is a multiple business owner, wife, and mother with visions as big as her heart. I wanted to dig a little deeper to find out what set her out on this path.
When did you know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Cloe: So, I knew I wanted to be an entrepreneur as soon as I felt I understood life at the age of 5 [laughs]. At 6 years old I had this obsession with Cruella DeVille from Disney’s 101 Dalmatians. I understood Cruella to be a businesswoman who saw a market for something that didn’t exist, which was spotted coats. Although she’s the villain, even at that young age I resonated with her power and her gall to go for her goals. There are too many times that women who go after their business are branded as the villain, the devil, or the B-word. That’s where it all started, I wanted to be an entrepreneur and change the perception of women who are.
How many ventures have you carried out and what are they?
Cloe: I did Brook Brovaz recording studios, recording company, and an independent label. Within Brook Brovaz alone there are three companies. Then we have Cloe’s Corner, which is a multipurpose event space that is the home of Women with Voices. It’s where we fulfill all our nonprofit initiatives. I now have Women Uplifting Women, the new app you mentioned. I also have books I am working on and many other ventures.
What is one big project on the horizon you’re excited about?
Cloe: The books are really exciting. We also have some film ideas and we are deciding by the end of the year which one we want to move forward with for 2021. I also have a podcast, Cloe’s Couch, that I am launching soon in addition to business courses. I want to give people everything they need to be successful. I’d love to do some motivational speaking, maybe a TED Talk, and give inspiration. Those are the things that are in the works moving forward.
