Elizabeth Olsen, who stars alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, said she hopes for an opportunity to deliver Scarlet Witch’s famous line from the comics in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Olsen told HeyUGuys that there is a chance of her saying Wanda Maximoff’s iconic words, “No more mutants.” She said, “I would love to be able to say [“No More Mutants”] in some capacity, to make it work for the MCU.”

The 33-year-old star further stated that she did not know Marvel Studios’ next move and explained that the inclusion of Wanda’s line at some point “is not anyone’s control but [Marvel Studios President] Kevin Feige.”

The words “No more mutants” were stated by Scarlet Witch during the House of M limited series in 2005, which happened in an alternate reality made by Wanda. Devastated following her father Magneto’s murder of her brother Quicksilver, Wanda blamed Magneto’s mutant supremacy mania.

While Marvel has not yet merged the X-Men franchise’s world of mutants into the official MCU canon, that could happen soon. Patrick Stewart’s Professor Charles Xavier in Fox’s X-Men films will offer a cameo in the new installation of Doctor Strange, prompting speculations that Professor X will make a comeback.

The official confirmation of Stewart’s reprisal of the role has not been made yet. Still, fans have quickly figured easter eggs in the trailer showing what seems to be Xavier’s yellow hover chair from the 90s X-Men comics and animated series.

Besides Xavier, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness vows several other famous MCU characters’ appearances.

The film will feature Olsen, Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, Michael Stuhlbarg, and Rachel McAdams. It is produced by Marvel Studios, directed by Sam Raimi, and written by Michael Waldron.

It follows Strange and his allies traveling throughout the multiverse to face a mysterious new villain. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to hit the theaters on May 6.
