Music plays an important role in culture. It provides a voice for the masses to speak out against injustices, bring out a festive mood in celebrations, promote expression, and educate people with stories of the past. Mexican culture is popularly known for its music, which is strongly embroiled within their culture. Raymond Tapia, a former DJ and music producer, wants to bring regional Mexican music to a greater crowd.
For eleven years, Raymond has been working to establish himself in the music industry. With a Mexican heritage, he would have an early exposure to music growing up. He took in every genre but fell in love with electronic dance music. Raymond Tapia started at the age of seventeen and produced music in the electronic dance music genre. In 2013, he studied at the Los Angeles Film School, taking Associate of Science and specializing in Music Production to further his career.
Raymond Tapia would spend several years working as a DJ and music producer. His career would see him play for clubs and events around the Los Angeles area. After getting a taste of life in the music industry, he would retire in 2015 and put his turntables away as he took a new position to work at Deorro’s Record Label, Panda Funk.
He took the Director of Digital Marketing role and developed campaigns that emphasized the artist’s content and brand development. Raymond would work with artists, management & label colleagues to devise and implement innovative, attainable, and successful digital strategies. With his new position, Raymond oversaw the digital marketing team’s day-to-day responsibilities and all campaign execution, creating artist visual brandings that include social skins and website landing pages. During his time with Panda Funk, Raymond began to get a clearer vision of the kind of company he wanted to run.
Raymond Tapia took his experience and knowledge to plot the next step of his career. He wanted to do things very differently from other people in the genre of regional Mexican. By 2016, Raymond would create Sintapia, a team that creates limitless opportunities for music gurus, modernizers, artists, and storytellers who shape the world of electronic dance music, pop culture, and the latest genre regional Mexican music. Initially, it started as a talent management company, but Raymond saw the demand for so much more.
Since its inception, Sintapia has been positioned at the forefront of music, talent, content, digital media, and live events. They have worked with some of the most prominent names and figures in the industry and have cultivated an immense network. So far, they have worked with Logan Paul, gotten a music sync deal with network operator giant T-Mobile, brought an artist on the big stage at Electric Daisy Carnival, signed an artist to music publisher Warner Chappell, toured across the United States, and set up major music collaborations. Their clients have benefited from their collective approach more than ever as they look to build their careers across multiple platforms.
Raymond Tapia has already set a course to continue expanding the efforts of Sintapia in the years to come and hopes to bring more eyes and ears to regional Mexican music while showing artists what they can do differently and continue to succeed.
