Each person faces challenges in their life; sometimes they win and sometimes they lose. When fighting against the strongest storms, it may seem like quitting is the easiest way out. For Christine Heath, however, leaning to God is the only thing to do. In Journey of Seasons, Heath takes her readers on a journey of her life filled with both smiles and tears.
Journey of Seasons reflects the 30-year journey of Heath’s life. The book is a total revelation. She wants her readers to live their life with the motto “Live for today, for tomorrow is not a guarantee” in mind. Heath shared that God helped her surpass big tribulations she had been through during her seasons. The book is imbued with hundreds of feelings that it could evoke all the pain Heath experienced. Christine has been through rough waves as she got divorced and was filled with the urge of committing suicide. Unfortunately, her struggle did not just stop here as she lost her grandma, as well as her dad who succumbed to cancer.
Heath shared that Psalms 23:4 is her go-to verse. “My hope is that in your prayer time, whatever you are dealing with, you set that aside and let God help you see the bigger picture. Remember always that he will never give you anything you can’t handle,” she said. She then mentioned that people should let love share the pain they are going through and grace will eventually follow. “May Journey of Seasons be the light and give you the comfort for whatever season you are walking through,” Heath declared.
Since the age 16, Heath has been blessed with the power of penning her emotions. Under 15 minutes, she could write down all her emotions and encapsulate it in a poem. She even said that she could write a poem solely based on an overwhelming story of a stranger.
She was a victim of domestic violence, diagnosed with cervical cancer and brain tumor, got into a car accident, and contemplated suicide. But despite her dark days, Heath never turned her back to God. “God was my teacher, my healer, my advocate,” Heath said. God’s goodness paved the way for her to live longer and motivate others. After the storm, there is more to life than surrendering to hopelessness. Heath’s raw and real writing offers spiritual healing and brings light to a fading hope. “I offer proof that in the wake of tragedy, you can transform to an alabaster box of hope and healing,” declared Christine.
“To live by my own words. Step out on faith and believe.” These were the foundations of Christine’s motivation in writing Journey of Seasons. Moreover, her husband’s faith in her talent helped her to express and share her thoughts to the world. Although her seasons and life were not smooth, sharing her rollercoaster-like journey is still worthy.
Currently, Heath plans on selling her house to move somewhere close to the ocean. Additionally, she is hopeful that her book will be successful in the next few years.
