Music is something that unites people, and it’s a norm for artists from different cultures and places to pay tribute to their heritage. Juvahn Victoria is the latest artist to break out in the scene with a sound influenced by her Polynesian and Palestinian roots.
Juvahn Victoria grew up in Sydney, Australia, spending most of her time with her grandmother. She found her love for music as an escape from her family’s clamor as addiction lingered from within, bringing traumatizing life events as she grew up. In music, she found healing and an outlet to write and express her thoughts as she started singing in the choir. Juvahn began making music and found that people resonated with her works and encouraging her to use her talent. She became certain that pursuit in music was the direction she wanted to head into.
Her first exposure to the big stage came in 2019 when she got the opportunity to perform at Coachella. The event proved to be memorable, but for all the wrong reasons. Her wallet was stolen, and her setlist had been messed up. On the Uber ride home, she was crying as she vented her frustrations. The ride proved to bring a silver lining as the driver who had been listening intently, revealed to be her sound engineer, and connected her to the award-winning music ensemble 1500 or Nothin’, opening doors that allowed her to work with some of the best producers and songwriters.
Juvahn made a recent move to Los Angeles to further her career. Since arriving, she has been working hard to release more music. Juvahn has been working with award-winning producers and songwriters who are helping her finalize her projects. She released a single titled “That’s What I Thought,” an empowerment piece she wrote after leaving an abusive relationship. The lyrics are raw, true and shows her strong belief in empowering women.
As a musician, Juvahn’s sound has been described as “dark, sexy, and often exotic-sounding songs whose spare, reductive arrangements mirror cutting-edge pop.” Juvahn has been making waves with her soulful and sultry voice coupled with powerful and honest lyrics.
While music is her first love, Juvahn is also passionate about fashion. She is currently working on her fashion line, which will be called Juvahn Victoria. Her inventory includes hoodies, sweatshirts, t-shirts, and love sleeved shirts for both men and women. Juvahn’s merchandise will feature either the Juvahn logo, a heart logo, or a strong woman’s silhouette, endorsing her belief in women empowerment.
Juvahn, while fairly new to the industry, also owns her own label called JV Inc. She runs the company with her business partner, Oscar, and currently has two artists signed with them and an in-house production team.
As a foreigner moving to America, Juvahn has faced many challenges. Because of that, she wants to build a strong team that supports and empowers one another as they work to grow together. Juvahn targets international success as an independent label and thrives as a respected artist in the music industry.
