The Gore Boyz are set to become the next phenomenal boy band, and their new single, “Spend A Bag,” is proof that they’re taking no prisoners. Having spent only one month in the airwaves, “Spend A Bag” has garnered over 700,000 streams on YouTube and Spotify. The Gore Boyz (TGB) is a Gastonia/Charlotte-based Pop and R&B group made up of three brothers: Herman III, Edwin, and Sean Michael. They are aged 19, 17, and 15, respectively.
Their new single was produced by Grammy Award-winning artist Theron ‘Neff-U’ Feemster, who made the theme song for the movie Men In Black. They have worked with the best of the best in the industry, and “Spend A Bag” is a profound statement from The Gore Boyz that they are here to stay and make a difference with their music. The Gore Boyz have been making music since 2009, before their teenage years. They dance, sing different types of music, and play a variety of musical instruments. Thanks to their undeniable talents, they have also been opportune to perform with big names like Justin Bieber.
The Gore Boyz haven’t been cruising through their music career without guidance. They have received mentorship and guidance from music legends like Usher and the Jackson Five. The inspiration to dance and play instruments came from these global stars. To make their art stand out, they have Chuck Maldonado, an LA/Hollywood based choreographer and owner of Fuzion Force LA dance studio, as their official choreographer. Maldonado also directed the video for “Spend A Bag,” and he is well-known in the entertainment industry because he has choreographed for artists such as Chris Brown, Big Time Rush, and on the Nickelodeon show Victorious, which launched Ariana Grande into the limelight.
Sean Michael is the lead singer and drummer, Herman, the oldest of the three, plays the supporting instruments, and Edwin is the guitarist. Their manager, Big Mike of Day 26, handles all their day-to-day affairs and also coaches their performances and vocals. The band is working hard to create songs that every age group can enjoy and never forget. “We want our music to help people enjoy themselves and have a great time,” Herman says.
Each of the brothers, still in their teenage years, are not only about the music. They are also pursuing their education diligently. Herman is on a full-ride scholarship to Morehouse College as a pre-med biology student. Edwin and Sean Michael are just as smart and both are National Honor students and are active student leaders at their school.
As “Spend A Bag” continues to generate buzz all over the world and garner streams, the band is setting its sights on how to capitalize on the success of this single. They look forward to what the future holds, and the opportunities that await them as their song sweeps through the global airwaves. “Our goal is to try and make music that everyone can enjoy. Whether you are old or young, reserved or bubbly, we want you to enjoy our music, dance, and be happy.”
