Sophia Rose, aka Pretty Weird Blonde is a multi-hyphenate powerhouse who is innovating a very unique approach to mainstream media—one that involves melding pop culture with esoteric wisdom. Her alien persona and eccentric talent are garnering her a reputation as an artist who strives to pioneer new horizons. She’s a Screen Actor’s Guild actor, screenwriter, director, and producer, as well as a SESAC musician, who is using her influential platform to create conscious content in Hollywood. Pretty Weird Blonde has made quite a name for herself, landing her a spot in NY weekly’s “Top 20 People to Follow in 2020” alongside heavyweight influencers such as Tony Robbins and Gary Vaynerchuk.
When the industry got hit by COVID in LA this past spring, Pretty Weird Blonde temporarily relocated her productions to Colorado to finish filming a few of her original TV series. Her time in Colorado birthed yet another wild endeavor in the ever-creative brain of Pretty Weird Blonde, as she transformed her experiences with the local community into a show called BoCo—a comedic mockumentary about an LA socialite attempting to assimilate with the shamans and healers of Boulder, Colorado. BoCo quickly became a local phenomenon, as Boulderites excitedly joined in to bring to life a story about their community. “Boulder is an enigma,” Pretty Weird Blonde elaborates. “Everyone outside of Colorado is curious about its hippie culture, so I figure why not give an authentic glimpse into the incredible mecca of wisdom here.” Her goal with BoCo is to share metaphysical knowledge with audiences while simultaneously entertaining them through comedy. Think The Office with a mystical spin.
One of her most anticipated shows, MediKate, is predicted to be especially popular with audiences as it touches on the raw vulnerability of mental health. MediKate is a dark comedy that explores the uncomfortable stigma of anxiety and depression. It seeks to normalize the conversation around mental health, a concept desperately needed during these uneasy times. “We’re all suffering in one way or another,” Pretty Weird Blonde confesses, “As someone who almost took my own life, I’m determined to create content that empowers others with their own internal struggles.” She ties this theme into another one of her shows, Ragananda—a children’s series that teaches youth how to address mental health via energy healing. Pretty Weird Blonde has a hefty roster of TV series that will be released on major streaming platforms in 2021—all of which revolve around the concept of melding deeper wisdom with mainstream culture.
Pretty Weird Blonde is on a mission to popularize conscious content and transcend the entertainment culture of our society. She’s building a production empire in which other industry professionals are joining her movement and committing to bring in a new wave of content. “So much of our media is shaped around dumbing audiences down because it’s an easy sell…but frankly, that just won’t suffice anymore,” says Pretty Weird Blonde, “Now more than ever, humanity needs content that will inspire us to think beyond the norm. Imagine what the world would look like if Hollywood became a breeding ground of consciousness!” Pretty Weird Blonde has received several accolades throughout her career, including “Best Actress” awards in major film festivals and OTT distribution for her original content.
Pretty Weird Blonde continues to impact the music world as much as she does in the film industry. As a SESAC musician, she’s written over 100 original songs and has had several placements in feature films and streaming series. Her latest music release, Love You in the Cosmos, is trending on over 25 major Spotify playlists (including “Global Hits 2020” and “New Music Friday”), further proving that this millennial is a multi-talented force to be reckoned with. Audiences resonate with her soulful sound as she sings viscerally from the heart and does not hold back in baring all.
When it comes to Pretty Weird Blonde, there is no doubt that a star is on the rise. Her unique projects and outer-worldly perspectives are changing the culture of Hollywood and bringing in a new paradigm of conscious mainstream media.
