Rapper and Migos member Quavo will star in a new action thriller movie from Quality Films and Trioscope titled Takeover, directed by Greg Jonkajtys and screenplay by Jeb Stuart (Die Hard, The Fugitive) and Brandon Easton (Marvel’s Agent Carter), Deadline reports.
Quavo will play a parolee trying to get his life back on track named Guy Miller. Despite his efforts, Miller somehow gets roped back into Atlanta’s dangerous street racing scene.
Live-action performances and animation will be used to capture the stunts, sideshows, and tricks that define this aspect of car culture.
This latest role adds to Quavo’s list of acting credits, including his roles in Atlanta, Black-ish, and Narcos: Mexico. He has also been billed to star in the forthcoming film Wash Me in the River by Randall Emmett.
“I’m really excited for this opportunity, especially shooting in my hometown of Atlanta,” Quavo said in a statement. “This film is an ideal opportunity to further delve into my craft, and I can’t wait to see how the action plays out in this animated environment.”
In music, Quavo’s debut solo album and most recent record, Quavo Huncho, came out in 2018. He recently released the new song “Shooters Inside My Crib,” featured in Bobby Shmurda and Pop Smoke tracks, and played at the 2022 NBA All-Star Celebrity Game.
