90210 and Degrassi: The Next Generation star Shenae Grimes knows a thing or two about being in the spotlight, but this holiday season, she wanted to put the spotlight on others and make them feel extra special.
Shenae, along with her friend, Colin Wayne, who is the CEO of Redline Steel and a decorated US Army Veteran, surprised shoppers at a local mall in Nashville, TN, where the two of them bought items that were in people’s shopping carts inside a Pottery Barn for them.
Together, the duo spent an estimated few thousand dollars on Pottery Barn products/gifts, while also donating another $3,000 cash to St. Jude’s Hospital—which had a booth setup at the mall—while also then handing out over $15,000 worth of Redline Steel home decor wrapped gifts to shoppers as they exited the mall.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS INDEED!
And while Shenae and Colin took it upon themselves to play Mr. and Mrs. Claus, they weren’t done giving back at the end of the day. As the sun went down and all the gifts were handed out, the pair came together with fellow Nashville star Jesse Labelle, to launch Colin’s company’s “FAMILY” holiday initiative on his website, where a family heart home decor product will see all the proceeds from it going directly into the pockets of Redline Steel employees as an extra holiday bonus, who have been working endless hours during the COVID-19 pandemic and the holiday season to get all the gifts out to people around the country.
The overall holiday spirit give-back falls in line with Colin’s motto of “People Over Profits”, and as Shenae stated on her social media following the event: “Seeing the folks’ faces made my whole Christmas season complete!”
Other guests in attendance to help with the handing out of gifts also included Avery Grasse, Austin Evans, Abdul Alaa, Zack Teperman, David Osborne, and Juliette Kida.
