Music is an ever-evolving material. Through the years, musicians have constantly experimented to create a niche with their own innovation. For Sorry It’s Over, they are yet to leave a dent in the music landscape with their indie rock and roll music.
The pop/alternative rock band heavily incorporates sounds that lie between modern and classic rock and roll. The 1-2 punch that is Sam Adgate and Louis Petrella have produced music that is impressive enough. One can even say that they are underrated artists as the total production of their released music is worthy of every music lover’s time.
“Sunflower,” the band’s first single ever released, is reminiscent of the calming sounding and lyricism of 60’s rock. However, their style is still distinguishable because of Sorry It’s Over’s twist on the music. The slow pace melody of “Sunflower” is definitely something that can be used as a soundtrack of coming-of-age movies. Additionally, the delivery of the vocals in the track can appeal so much to teenagers who love rock and roll.
On the other hand, they flaunt an edgier sound with their second single, “Ghost Inside,”which was released on August 7. Both tracks can be streamed on music platforms such as Spotify, YouTube, YouTube Music, and Amazon.
“Ghost Inside” will not be the band’s last project though. A full-length debut album is looming in the horizon. Additionally, Sorry It’s Over will be dropping their third single, “Am I Better?” on October 9.
Sorry It’s Over traces its humble beginnings to a 12-square-foot studio inside Louis’ garage in Encinitas, CA. Originally bandmates from Borski Boys back in highschool, playing mostly classic rock covers, best friends Sam and Louis moved to Santa Barbara to go to college and wound up experimenting with EDM as they joined an event production company, We Jungle. Louis then became a DJ of major parties in Isla Vista.
They went back to Encinitas after multiple trial and errors in Santa Barbara. Since April 2019, the duo experimented with different styles of music. Fortunately, their collaboration opened a lot of doors for them as they ultimately found the genre they are most comfortable in. With demos and recordings, the two linked up with Geza X. Eventually, they released their project that is available on Geza X Records.
Geza X is famously known as the producer of Meredith Brooks’s hit single, “Bitch.” The punk rock producer was also behind some tracks of Black Flag, Dead Kennedys, and The Germs, and many others.
With Louis’s background in rock music, he could play every Green Day song at the age of 8, together with everything he’s learned about producing music on Ableton, they are creating music that provides a feeling of nostalgia for both the old and the young. Sam does most of the vocals and lyrics while Louis handles most of the instruments. Their authenticity in songwriting is natural. The duo are passionate in incorporating rock and roll elements in their music so they can accomplish what they have always envisioned for Sorry it’s Over.
