Humankind has the instinct to be creative and artistic. Music is one of the art forms that play a massive role in humanity’s desire for expressing art, thoughts, and feelings thoroughly. As such, musicians and artists must continue to produce new music like what Stryker Records is trying to do.
Stryker Records is a music label founded by Chris Dobry, and it aims to promote live concerts, manage talented musicians and artists, and release music worldwide. Chris started Stryker Records in 1997, even if he does not have a dime to his name. This brainchild sprung forth from his idea of putting on a battle of the bands’ show in his hometown of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Through his tremendous effort of releasing a series of press releases, he was able to secure an interview on the local CBS station the same night as the Grammy Awards for a battle of the bands event. This is an outstanding feat, especially from a record label that is only starting to grow in the industry, and it drew a lot of attention to the event. Because of this, the event was very successful, and a lot of people patronized the event, which drew in the initial funds the label needed to launch itself on a grander scale. It also helped showcase a lot of local talent that Chris would eventually work with.
Chris moved the company’s operations to Detroit Michigan, where Euphoria Productions was hired to focus on promoting large events. Nearly every live music event that Stryker Records and its partners promote is newsworthy. Headliners at the company’s events are gold and platinum recording artists such as Merle Haggard, SheDaisy, John Anderson, Saliva, Rick Monroe, Saving Abel, Tantric, La Guns, and many more.
Furthermore, the recording artists under Stryker Records such as Jamie Fontaine and the Level have charted on Billboard and Foundations with airplay across the nation competing with A-list artists such as Marylin Manson, Seether, Shinedown, and Breaking Benjamin. Three of their singles were recorded by producers Malcolm Springer and Jason Schrick and the House of Blues Studios at Universal Music Group in Nashville.
At present, Stryker Records and Mainstage Media holds an annual event which is live called The Hip Hop World Series. This show aims to promote and showcase talents from all over the Midwest. The prizes are awarded to the top 3 artists picked by a panel of three judges plus audience impact.
What sets Stryker Records apart from the other record labels is its capability to produce live events and talent gigs, which helps their talents to have tons of exposure. Stryker Records currently focuses on bringing back the love for genres like Rock, Country, and Hip Hop. In five years, Stryker Records aims to shift its focus and resources to expand its reach and roster to accommodate several Rock, Country, and HipHop groups. With the company’s vast network and audience, this goal will be achieved easily.Check out Stryker Records’ official Facebook and Instagram page for more information.
