Many times when pursuing life goals, people encounter hurdles and challenges. Musician Trey Cornelius knows a thing or two about facing giants and overcoming them. As a singer and songwriter, things didn’t always come easy for him. Yet all in all, Trey chose to press on and become a successful musician. Nowadays, he’s taking significant strides toward his goals, armed with his guitar and positive outlook toward life.
Trey is a singer who found his place in creating music covers and original tracks. He first discovered his love for music and entertaining people when he was a teenager. He would dedicate much of his life to using his craft to bring joy to people, going from singing in school shows to playing his guitar in front of many crowds. After years of thriving on musical covers, Trey Cornelius would start writing his material.
One of Trey’s original songs is “Make It Happen,” which has become the mantra of his life. “One slogan that sticks with me is ‘Make It Happen’—make every second count,” shares the musician. “If you strive for success, then anything can happen if you let it.” The artist’s mindset and approach to life have helped him push through some of the most significant obstacles.
Trey Cornelius’ musical journey has not always been comfortable. He would often try to join musical competitions, but organizers wouldn’t allow him due to age restrictions or exclusive memberships. Yet with his mind set on his goal, Trey continued to persist and stay on the lookout for other opportunities. He would soon find himself traveling across the country for a music competition in which he would make the final forty.
When it comes to overcoming hurdles, Trey has a foolproof philosophy. “One of the best things to do is face them head-on or, as I like to call it, take it like a man,” shares Trey. “There’s no such thing as no or never.” Trey often finds strength and motivation in his love for music and entertaining people. He knows what he wants and does everything possible to get it.
In recent times, as the COVID-19 pandemic has frozen much of our day to day lives, Trey has devoted himself to writing more original songs. He recently released two new songs entitled “Next to You” and “You Rock.” Trey hopes to start recording and publishing music as soon as quarantines are over.
For the time being, Trey has committed himself toward improving his craft, even starting to learn how to play the piano. He continues to put himself out there by doing Facebook Live shows and playing music for people on online channels. Trey Cornelius continues to surround himself with musician friends who have made it big, hoping that he can learn and follow in their footsteps.
The musician and artist has the dedication that can bring him to new heights. And as he continues to overcome hurdles as they come and push forward toward his goal, Trey continues to pick up wins that bring him closer and closer to his goals.
