Films can mean different things to every actor. For multi-award-winning American entertainer, actor, executive producer, writer, and director Tyrone Evans Clark, a film is like a looking glass, a reflection, an avenue to amplify his heart-wrenching narrative and roller coaster life.
Tyrone Evans Clark is the renowned creative genius behind many hit shows and movies. He has showcased his talent in Netflix’s Velvet Buzzsaw and Magic for Humans, capturing global audiences through the platform. Additionally, his passion for the craft has led him to be a part of Lifetime’s Seatbelt Psychic, E! Entertainment’s Dating #NoFilter, BET’s Running Out of Time, Awesomeness TV’s Tri Me with the iconic Rickey Thompson, and many more.
With great passion and immense respect for the art of filmmaking, Tyrone Evans Clark approaches each project with enthusiasm and professionalism. Besides starring in multiple international shows, the artist has also ventured into creating his own film called Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie—a film revolving around a mother played by Margaret Newborn and her son, portrayed by Tyrone himself. The family of two happens to be homeless. Despite their circumstances, the son never ceases to dream and face life with humor and optimism.
Tyrone Evans Clark has received countless honors for his dedication. Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie has gained various awards in the international scene. The film bagged the Best Comedy Award from Toronto Film Magazine Fest. Additionally, the movie has won multiple awards and recognitions, including being a finalist of Independent Shorts Awards, a semi-finalist of IndieX Film Festival, bagging best feature of Hollywood Blood Horror Festival, and being nominated by The Monkey Bread Tree Film Awards.
Asked what inspired him to create Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie, Tyrone Evans Clark shared that he wanted to share his past with the rest of the world. The artist has formerly been homeless several times before, and he knows what that kind of life is like inside and out. “A lot of people assume that homeless people are on drugs, mentally ill, dangerous, or just plain beggars,” said Tyrone. “The reality is homeless people are like everyone else. Homeless people are usually misunderstood,” he added.
On top of directing the film, Tyrone Evans Clark also fearlessly took on the role of Sam in the movie. “I wanted to do it because I’m the only one that really knows my story,” he shared. Beyond artistic freedom, the film is an independent and personal venture for the artist. Inspired by his all-time favorite director, Quentin Tarantino, Tyrone wanted Homeless Sam & Sally – The Movie to showcase a harsh reality with artistry and humor.
Tyrone Evans Clark persevered to get out of being homeless and carve his own path in the world as an inspiration for others who are stuck in the same situation but are bursting with a vision. Tyrone began as a humble dreamer at Benton Harbor High School, passionate about film and forms of communication. Today, he is one of the most promising personalities and creatives of his generation. Following the footsteps of some of his favorite actors in the industry—Jim Carrey, Eddie Murphy, and Tyler Perry, Tyrone aims to raise awareness on social issues while making everyone laugh wholeheartedly.
Also, the actor and director built his company, Tyrone Evans Clark Incorporation. The company specializes in providing virtual reality services, augmented reality, mixed reality, computer-generated virtual reality, artificial intelligence, game development, and many other services revolving around technology, robotics, and engineering.
