Great achievements always begin with a step, and for Rayvon Cystrunk, also known as Uno Paper Boi, his music journey has been a series of little steps that have formed a major step that people can feel in his latest album, Thinkin Bout Money.
The Riverside, California-born artist took his destiny in his hands and strived hard to make it out of the ghetto through a series of unordered steps. Rayvon Cystrunk’s earliest interest was skateboarding, and according to him, it was a way of keeping his mind off the negativity that surrounded him. He was in the middle of seeking sponsorship before he moved to Atlanta at the age of 13, where he says everything about his life changed. “Upon getting to Atlanta, my dreams and goals changed to music, and a little bit of acting and Uno Paper Boi was born,” he said.
Over the years, Uno Paper Boi has grown as a brand and become one of the top underground artists to rise through the ranks in the city of Atlanta’s music scene. He also had his fair share of film appearances to launch his acting career and rub shoulders with Hip-hop stars. “My passion for music has grown exponentially over the years, allowing me to project myself, showcase my talents and do many things to get my name in the spotlight,” Rayvon noted.
His latest album, Thinkin Bout Money, lends further credence to his artistic abilities, and Uno Paper Boi has used the opportunity to feature some exciting names. Thinkin Bout Money quickly became a street favorite after its release. Rayvon describes it as “a specially made and delivered project blowing every competition in the underground music scene out of the waters.” Without resting on his oars, Uno Paper Boi quickly set to work on more music, and next month, he has announced the release of new music titled “Indecisive” featuring NL Ryeshawn, produced by K.E.
Uno Paper Boi strives to be on top of his game as a musician to be a beacon of hope for youths living in poor communities who think they have no chance of making it out. “I want to be living proof and hope that it is possible if you follow your dreams and put in the work everything is possible. I intend to be a pillar to my community and to give back to the less fortunate because I know how it feels to be that kid growing up without having much but wanting the world,” he said.
While he works on building a successful career and inspiring others who look up to him, Uno Paper Boi thrives on his uniqueness and individuality. He sees himself as a rare breed because of his background and circumstances, which play a significant role in the type of music he creates. He also believes in showcasing his authentic side through music and film and wants to make a notable mark on his audience that no other artist will ever come close to replicating.
His five-year goals entail success, becoming a billionaire, an A-list actor and musician and everything he saw in other stars that motivated him to pursue a career in entertainment. “I watched many big stars growing up, and they motivated me to pursue this life. I want to leave my footprints in the game to motivate others who want to become leaders in the music industry and uplift their communities the same way I’m currently doing,” he revealed. “I have seen poverty, and it’s not what I wish for my children to see. So I’m changing my life, and I want others to believe they can do the same. “Een if your life was dealt a bad hand doesn’t mean there is never gonna be a redeal of the card deck, and that it is always possible to make it out of any circumstances that comes your way just come up with a strategy and plan and execute to the best of your ability,” he added.
