When actress Gabby Kono walks into a room, everyone notices. Besides her exotic looks and lithe figure, she has the magic aura of all “it girls. This lovely and talented woman is an accomplished independent producer and actress who has worked on numerous notable films, highlighting her versatile talents in front of and behind the camera. At the heart of Gabby’s endeavors lies a profound commitment to creative storytelling, particularly narratives often marginalized or overlooked.

Gabby has contributed to films like “Agent Game” (2023), a thriller about a CIA Agent who becomes a target of the agency himself, starring Dermot Mulroney, Mel Gibson and Jason Isaacs. She also worked on “Magic Carpet Rides” (2022) with Nicole Dubois, Matthew Law and Natasha Behnam, in a feel-good romance about an anxious influencer who meets a carefree person who is disconnected from the modern world. The films show her talents in different genres. People in the industry took notice of her abilities.

She will soon showcase her filmmaking savvy in a project that is dear to her heart: the forthcoming adaptation of the bestselling novel Wish You Were Here, slated for release in 2025 by PhiPhen. This romantic tragedy, originally penned by author Renee Carlino, holds a special significance for Gabby, who not only acquired the rights to the story in 2017 but also assumed the roles of producer and actress.

Gabby is fresh off filming the movie in Southern Florida, where the crew and actors lived in Boca Raton. The wrap party at a local yacht club was a hoot with a DJ, a sax player, and sailor-themed party enhancers. Part of the shoot was on a sailboat, which is one of the reasons Florida was the setting for the shoot.

Additionally, Gabby enlisted acclaimed actress Julia Stiles for her directorial debut and collaborated with Molly Connors’s Phiphen as her co-producer, facilitating the involvement of leading talents such as Jennifer Grey, Mena Massoud (Aladdin), Isabelle Fuhrman (The Orphan), and Kelsey Grammer (Frasier).

This movie project is a reunion for Stiles and Grammar, who starred in the critically acclaimed God Committee, which was also a hit at the box office.

Kono, raised in Brookville, New York, is a gorgeous brunette who resides in Manhattan with her husband, Michael, and their adorable Goldendoodle, Sasha. Whether embarking on travel adventures or sailing the deep blue seas, this fun couple always approaches life’s adventures together.

Gabby’s educational background was at the University of Southern California, where she pursued dual degrees in acting and business, giving her a unique approach to the complex aspects of making movies. In addition to being a professional actress, Gabby’s Little Fishy Films optioned the rights to several bestselling novels and scripts, where various projects reside in the development stage.

We look forward to seeing Gabby’s future projects on the screens of our local movie houses.
