The Gyro is a popular dish that originate in Turkey and brought to America when people begin to immigrate from Greece. It consists of slices of meat on pita bread with tomato sauce and tzatziki sauce. It is one of the most popular vegetarian or vegan options at American Deli.
American Deli’s BBQ Cauliflower Sandwich consists of two slices of grilled cauliflower topped with pork rinds and chipotle mayo. This is another popular vegan dish and one that many people choose to make at home.

The people/service- The people working in the deli are consistently friendly and courteous, smiling. The restaurant is well kept, clean, and free of clutter- Don’t forget to ask for the manager, and he’ll tell you why. The sandwiches- Every sandwich I have tried has been different yet amazing. This is a personal preference, but I like my sandwiches unpretentious and simple. You won’t be disappointed with any of the sandwiches on the menu or specials.
The process- You will see the same working behind the counter of the deli every day- and that is what makes it so easy to go back. I can guarantee you will not find a nicer restaurant than Muss & Turner’s.
The products- I love their sauce, chips, pickles, and patty melts.
Locally-sourced/seasonally inspired- The deli has a vast selection of beer, wine and spirits.
The choice: Every time I go in, I do not get the same sandwich twice.
It’s nice to find a place like Muss & Turner’s Deli where you can find something new every time you go there. I like the veggie turkey salad, and my son likes their hot dogs and the special meatloaf sandwiches.
The drinks:– My favourite is their eight oz. Of dark beer in a tall glass: it’s the perfect size for you and has the right amount of flavour. It is not too sweet and not watered down like many others are. I like that it doesn’t have any caffeine in it, either!

The desserts:– Their homemade frozen vanilla bean ice cream is the best! It is so delicious, and they don’t skimp on the flavouring. The quality of the ice cream is incredible compare to the normal grocery store brands I have tried in the past. The ice cream tastes as if it came from a high-end shop. I highly recommend it! They also always make special orders for everyone to bring their flavours or toppings for their special desserts.
The brunch: – The breakfast is AMAZING. Muss & Turner’s has a great variety of different types of eggs you can choose from, as well as cereals, toast, and many more delicious dishes!
The atmosphere: – There is always a positive atmosphere there. You do not see any violence or fighting in the deli. It is quite nice and very relaxing.
We always order our food here; they are always so nice and friendly.
The sandwiches:– The sandwiches are very delicious, always make fresh and never disappointed. If you go to Muss & Turner’s, I highly recommend the “Big Daddy”, it is my favourite!
We cater for all of this goodness- I will be honest and say that I have never had anything besides the deli meat, but my wife got everything on the menu today! I know it is a little out of their way for catering, but I was blown away by how awesome everything is! We are coming back next year to dine with you again! It was nice doing business with you again. MUSS & TURNER’S IS ONE OF THE BEST DELIS IN AMERICA-
I have been going there for a few years now and haven’t changed my default name of “The Sandwich Guy”. With all due respect to its competitors, I cannot imagine that anyone could want to eat any other deli sandwiches– except maybe for ham and turkey. For starters, Muss & Turner’s deli has the best selection of (natural) cured meats. And you can get it in almost any combination of meat, cheese or lettuce you imagine.
Conclusion- The deli does a great job of providing the meat (and vegetarian options)- grinder, as well- but a mediocre job of giving the rest of the meats. The sliced meats used in sandwiches are sourced from several sources; it includes some different cuts from New York City and around the country.
The service is good– it’s hard to find sandwiches faster than most places can make them. But that’s the only thing where you’ll encounter them…
