Music and entertainment fans should mark their calendars for June 1st, as Denver’s B. Boyd is slated to release his highly anticipated debut album, “Cardamom.”  A rapper and producer, Boyd has expressed his determination to avoid being confined to a single genre. Instead, his goal for the album is to showcase his diverse talents and provide listeners with a unique sonic experience.

Growing up in the Denver suburbs, B. Boyd’s background is a blend of cultures, with a Chinese mother and a passion for the sounds of his Asian heritage. This year has already been significant for Boyd, as he recently became engaged to his girlfriend, Kristin. Beyond his music, Boyd is also deeply passionate about climate change.

When we say that B. Boyd’s target audience is music fans and entertainment fans, his music and style will likely appeal to individuals interested in music and entertainment as a form of leisure and enjoyment. As a rapper and producer, Boyd’s music appeals to individuals who enjoy hip-hop, rap, EDM, rock, and other related genres.  Boyd’s music, which fuses different genres and offers a unique listening experience, will likely appeal to these individuals as they are always looking for new and exciting forms of entertainment.

According to B.Boyd, “The goal of this record was to keep myself from getting boxed into a genre. People call me a rapper, but I produced most of the songs on this EP myself, which I’m super proud of. I’m stoked to see how it turned out, I think it absolutely bangs, and I can’t wait to share it with everyone!”

Influenced by artists like Mike Shinoda of Linkin Park, B. Boyd has used his music to embrace and celebrate his heritage. Boyd recently expressed, “My favorite band was Linkin Park, and I think that was at least partly because Mike Shinoda was the only half-Asian famous person I’d ever seen. He really gave me someone to latch onto. His song Kenji and even just the way his voice sounds were familiar to me, even though I’m not Japanese and don’t know anyone who was in the internment camps, just the stories of immigrants and the sounds of people talking with accents helped me know that it’s okay to be me and those things in my life aren’t things to hide or be ashamed of.”

Inspired by these artists, B.Boyd’s debut single, “Evaporate,” combines spoken word and mellow synths to create an atmospheric EDM vibe. The follow-up, “Hero in America,” fuses rock, a heavy EDM drop, and politically charged rap to create an anthem that will undoubtedly have fans chanting along.

Boyd’s third single, “Pigeon,” scheduled for an early May release, promises to be a dance-pop tune with rap verses and a touch of zaniness inspired by Remi Wolf and 100 Gecs. The debut album, “Cardamom,” will feature six songs and two short interludes, resulting in an eight-track anthology highlighting Boyd’s versatility in song production and combining diverse sounds to form a cohesive album.

As B. Boyd prepares to release “Cardamom,” fans can expect many music videos, merchandise, remixes, and concerts throughout 2023. Keep an eye on this multi-talented artist as he enters the spotlight with his unique and genre-defying debut album.
