People chase after success for various reasons. Some do it for fame and glamor. Others do it for more altruistic reasons, such as philanthropy and social impact. Whatever reason it might be, those who have a good enough motivation are those who see through ordeals and challenges that come and rise above it all. For Kimberly Cloud, that motivation was clear from the very beginning.
“I started my career to make sure that my children do not end up in poverty,” shares the serial entrepreneur. “Later, I started to push the envelope and did it so that I can help people along the way. My children inspire me. Life inspires. People inspire me.” And over the years, Kimberly has taken that inspiration and used it as fuel to experience breakthrough after breakthrough in business.
Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Kimberly would start a Blue Cloud Cleaning Company business in Pennsylvania and lead it through one of the worst economic times in the nation. Despite the challenges, the company would grow significantly and employ several people who had lost their jobs to the global recession. Accordingly, she would earn clients’ trust from all around the region for their attention to detail, professionalism, and superb customer service. Blue Cloud focuses on general cleaning and also provides disinfection services for commercial and office buildings, a service that has been of immense value to businesses amid COVID-19 contaminations.
Months after starting and scaling Blue Cloud Cleaning, Kimberly Cloud would push her limits once more and start another business venture alongside her thriving company. She called her second company Genuinely Michelle Wigs, an online store that procured and distributed top-level quality wigs to customers from all over the world via an online store.
Through Genuinely Michelle, Kimberly would start diving deep into online strategies, marketing on digital platforms, and researching high-quality wigs, hair products, and other accessories. The company’s goal was to become a one-stop shop for wig enthusiasts from varying backgrounds, races, or genders. Just like Blue Cloud Cleaning Company, Genuinely Michelle Wigs would also take off and become a success. Today, the wig store also regularly supports cancer patients in the state, reflecting on Kimberly Cloud’s desire to impact people’s lives through her business.
In retrospect, Kimberly believes that the pandemic brought out her entrepreneurial spirit and allowed her to shine. “When COVID-19 happened, it took a toll on not only my marriage. I’ve been positively rebuilding my life for almost a year, expanding every day,” shares the business owner. “I overcame it by making sure that I distance myself from negativity and network with positive people. I stay in my bubble while I boast about the people I help.”
Today, Kimberly has set her mind on even greater goals. She hopes to own three seven-figure companies in the future and give her family the best life she possibly can. Now seeing the impact her businesses have made in the community, Cloud also hopes to employ more people who need it most, especially among the minority population. She also hopes to grow her wig business and support more people who are battling cancer.
