Monique LeClair exemplifies the modern-day woman, someone who confidently pursues her dreams and passions in life and excels in them. She is not only an actress, model, TV host, athlete, writer, and humanitarian. She is also a very dedicated nurse who finds great fulfillment in helping patients through the most difficult seasons of their lives. While it would seem she has a lot on her plate, Monique has managed to thrive and succeed in her chosen careers in the entertainment and medical industries.
If anything, Monique LeClair is an inspiration to countless women out there who are pursuing their passions relentlessly despite the odds. On top of her commitment to succeed in her career, she is also a loving and doting mother to her daughter Nova Lee Jasper LeClair, whom she shares with musician and songwriter Cody Alan Jasper. To say that Monique has it all is an understatement. To her, what she does is all about making the most of possibilities while she can without fear of the potential setbacks that may come along the way.
“I think that the most important thing that you have to remember in life is that you have to be true to yourself. You have to follow your passion. You’re going to come across bumps along the way and obstacles, but you just have to know that everything in life happens for a reason,” she explained.
Monique’s inclination for nursing became apparent when she was a very young girl. “I’ve known I’ve wanted to help people at an early age. I was just always that kid. I would bring in possums off the side of the road after they’ve been hit by a car and try to help. And I try to revive them, and I think I can save their lives,” the actress shared.
One of her greatest motivations in deciding to pursue a degree in nursing was the death of her father, Richard Armand LeClair, due to cancer when she was just 11 years old. She remembers pouring a huge part of her time into making her father comfortable during his last days. Her father was an actor, model, and businessman, which would explain her natural acting and modeling skills.
“I have been fortunate enough to touch other people’s lives in the same way. Being a nurse, you’re helping people in their most vulnerable hours,” said Monique LeClair. “Aside from being a mother, it is an amazing human experience. It’s very rewarding. And I actually became a nurse at the age of 20. I started taking college credits before I graduated high school.”
Just recently, the rising actress and model shot a music video with Wiz Khalifa and Christina Aguilera. She was also recently seen at Guy Oseary’s Oscar after-party, where she was also documented to rub elbows with the entertainment industry’s biggest names such as Snoop Dogg, Lil Nas, Leonardo DiCaprio, Jason Momoa, Ricky Martin, P Diddy, Robert Pattinson, Tyga, and Ashton Kutcher. There is no doubt that Monique has mastered the art of time management, being able to effectively divide her time between motherhood, nursing, and acting.
“You don’t have to stick to one thing. My Mom would always tell me, ‘Don’t put your eggs in one basket because you’ll never know if you have multiple doors cracked. You never know what’s going to be behind the next door.’ Try a little bit of everything,” she advised. “You don’t want to be older in life and have regret or wish that you would have done something, although it’s never too late. I think it’s important to go after what you’re passionate about while you can.”
As Monique LeClair continues to rise as a modern-day renaissance woman, the world can only hope that more women will be empowered to fearlessly pursue their dreams.
