Upcoming artist Henny West aspires to inspire music lovers around the world with his self-produced, self-engineered, and original music. Recently, the artist released his latest album called 1440, a thought-provoking project that aims to encourage the audience to reevaluate how they use their time. 1440 is named after the number of minutes people get in a day, and Henny seeks to ask his listeners if they are spending each minute wisely.
Before producing 1440, Henny West had formerly released three albums. The first was called Bout Time, a compilation album of all his pioneer productions. “That album took so long to release so we agreed that it would be called Bout Time,” said the artist. Soon after, the release of his second album called Story to Tell followed. The album was Henny’s avenue for allowing the audiences to learn his challenging narrative.
Story to Tell dives deep into how Henny West struggled growing up, not having both parents by his side and being raised by his grandparents. The album also explores how he fought through some of the darkest times of his life. At 18, Henny was shot in their neighborhood, and the experience led him to realize that God gave him a second chance at life. Music became his resolve, his primary form of releasing pain, and now it’s a tool for him to help others in any way he can.
Eventually, his passion paved the way for his third album to be produced. It was called Show Me the Light. “I was in a deep depression, and I wanted people to know that I was just like the regular person,” shared the artist. Show Me the Light is also an encouragement for other upcoming artists to take their shot. Henny knows how difficult it is to be an emerging talent without having the platform to tell his story.
All four of the artist’s albums were released under his independent record label called Dedicated To You Entertainment. Currently based in Carson, California, Henny West has also collaborated with other artists and helped them engineer their tracks. As a music producer, engineer, and songwriter, Henny is easily a strong package in the music industry. Still, the artist uses his strengths to be a reliable partner for other aspiring artists who want their voices to be heard.
Besides releasing 1440 amid the pandemic, Henny West has also ventured deeper into his self-created genre called TrapRock, a combination of trap-style hip hop and rock music. The artist remains open-minded in exploring his capabilities and hopes to bring a fresh sound to the table. Henny has remained productive even during a global crisis and the trying times made him realize even more how grateful he is to be doing what he loves.
“People should always want to work with someone that respects the craft. I put my heart in every word that I write,” said Henny West. “Everyone singing along to my records is what I live for,” he added. For over 20 years, music has been Henny’s companion throughout the happy and dark times of his life. He remains inspired to wake up every day, knowing that his music has touched his listeners.
