Introducing BooCiti: The Hidden Gem in NYC’s Hip-Hop History and Founder of Coke Boys Label

One of the artists who played a significant role in building the hip-hop community in New York City, BooCiti, is genuinely an unsung pillar in the music industry. Today, he is making an even bigger impact through his music label, Coke Boys South and Coke Girls, working with rising artists across the country. BooCiti is using music to discuss social, political, and financial issues on a global scale, and he is helping others do the same.

BooCiti is known for creating music that speaks with the time. His lyrics talk about current pressing issues, as he wants to spark conversations and encourage listeners worldwide. His music is directional and focuses on specific issues his community is facing. Growing up in the Mott Haven Projects in The Bronx, the artist listened to legendary hip-hop artists, such as Fat Joe, Show Biz, AG, BIPC, and Big L. Eventually, he was introduced to superstar French Montana, who motivated him to continually grow as a rapper and do whatever it takes to break through to the mainstream music landscape.

Aiming to do more in the music industry, BooCiti took a great stride and decided to build his brand in 2012, Coke Boys South and Coke Girls—a music label that wants to propel the music journeys of underrated yet spotlight-worthy individuals from all walks of life. The label currently signs artists from VA and beyond. Through his company, BooCiti was able to successfully launch his highly anticipated mixtape called Tru Storiez in 2013. Coke Boys is home to promising artists like the founder himself such as Chinx Drugz, Cheez, Droop Pop, and Broc, to name a few.

Coke Boys has been generating quite the buzz in the landscape that its movement can be compared to other records owned by music icons, including Lil Wayne and Young Money. The company has also worked with artists from Delaware, Philadelphia, New Jersey, New York City, Connecticut, Boston, and Canada.

“When I created my company, I included aspects that would ensure that my listeners would be motivated to listen to my music, but would also come back and share what they consume with other people within their community,” shared the entrepreneur.

BooCiti also explained that his company ensures that their music brings something fresh to music lovers and satisfies three crucial qualities—relatability, timeliness, and innovation. Producing a wide range of hip-hop music that goes beyond what the genre has offered so far, Coke Boys is indeed changing the game, making newsworthy music that builds loyalty among audiences worldwide.

As one of the pioneer hip-hop artists in the United States, BooCiti amplified that he has a unique edge over others as he knows how to make audiences listen to what he has to say musically.

“Everyone has something they are naturally good at, and for me, writing music that has an impact on society and culture is where I excel,” said the artist. “In addition to that, it effectively creates my personal brand within the music industry.”

Furthermore, he shared that he has clear and specific goals, which keep him on track to grow as a professional hip-hop star, an entrepreneur, and other aspects of his personal life. On top of it all, BooCiti matches his talent with hard work, making him a genuine force to reckon with.

Hip-hop has been an unmistakable pillar for the African-American community, and BooCiti hopes his label would be an instrument to help Black artists forward their culture and narratives to the world.
