Unbeknownst to many of its patrons, Tiger Lab Studios initially began in the comfort of founder Skylar Dawn’s own living room when she was twenty years old. Born and raised in Orange County, California, Skylar had always dipped her toes in the creative industry. Nowadays, she owns a full-scale production studio located in Los Angeles, California.

The esteemed production studio is an award-winning studio that has been used by famous production companies and celebrities alike. The studio has garnered a massive reputation within the creative industry, with clients flying in from all over the globe just to have an opportunity to shoot at Tiger Lab Studios.
Skylar Dawn has had a lot of experience in the creative industry. She is a published VFX photographer who has done photoshoots for artists and publications such as DUB Magazine, Wu-Tang, Tantric, Obey, and many more. Her company, Tiger Lab Studios, has collaborated with the likes of The White House, The United States Homeland Security, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, L’Oreal USA, Sony Music USA, Universal Music, The New York Times, Wiz Khalifa, Ty $ Sign, FX entertainment, E Network, WEtv, Pulp Riot Hair, Howard Jones, WWE Network, John5, DiscoveryID network, BuzzFeed, Foo Fighters, and many other bands, artists, and networks from all across the globe.
As the owner of Tiger Labs Studio, Skylar Dawn has cemented herself as quite possibly one of the few women who founded their own production studio. “If there are any more women entrepreneurs who founded their own production studio, I would very much like to meet you,” said Skylar.
Fortunately, Tiger Labs Studios survived the negative effects of the global pandemic that ravaged multiple businesses all across the globe. The odds were stacked against Skylar Dawn, and her studio as Tiger Lab did not receive any help from the state or any government agency at all.
“During the time of the shutdown, things were really hectic for all business owners and executives, especially in the entertainment world. When we got notified after months of waiting that the SBA wasn’t going to help us, and other disaster relief programs denied us. I knew no one was going to help us,” said Skylar Dawn.
Through her business-savvy mindset, her quick wit, and her go-getter attitude, Skylar Dawn was able to keep Tiger Labs Studios afloat, which is an impressive feat steeped in her hard work, passion, and open collaboration with her team. When asked about what motivated her to establish her studio, Skylar Dawn said that “Building the studio wasn’t just something I wanted to do. It was something I felt like I needed to do. There is a certain type of magic I fell in love with that production studios have. And that’s the ability to let a creative watch their visions come alive.”
