A dream is a person’s creative vision of one’s life in the future. And although dreams can often seem out of reach, they should never be out of sight for a person to achieve them. As a matter of fact, in any quest towards becoming great, the journey is naturally filled with roadblocks along the way. But with the end in mind, it makes every obstacle worthwhile. For this reason, Papa Gueye, otherwise known as Squalla, set out to fulfill his goals with a hopeful spirit and a positive mind.
Unlike other individuals who give up at first sight of failure, Squalla continuously makes bold strides to achieve his dreams. And although a number of people have discouraged him from following a path in the music and entertainment industry, Squalla knew that he was destined to create waves of changes in such a cutthroat environment. As he zeroes in towards the summits of success, he continues to prove his naysayers wrong.
Squalla has always wanted to become one of the most sought-after hip-hop artists across the world. Hailing from the palm-studded State of California, Squalla kicked off his journey after realizing his dreams in his hometown, the southwest side of Houston, Texas. Although his path was filled with difficulties and struggles, not to mention the discouragements he had to endure, Squalla eventually gained notoriety after releasing his first project entitled “Anxiety” and being featured in two of the city’s major media platforms, Houston Press and Hiphop Weekly. And on top of his breakthrough, he became part of a collective called “Fresh Lxrds” and a solo artist managed by Oscar Roberts, the CEO of JV Inc.
While his journey in Houston molded him to become the artist he wanted to be, Squalla knew that he had to develop more of his skills and talents elsewhere. Determined to improve and continue his pursuit of success, he then moved to Los Angeles, California, where he found his sound reflecting the story of his life.
Since his move from Houston to Los Angeles, Squalla has recently put out two new singles entitled “Look At Me” and “Floating.” While others would assume that this newcomer would begin his new life in California with a rough start, his recently released songs have garnered over half a million streams on various online platforms. On top of that, he has also collaborated with some of the legendary artists in the industry, such as Devin the Dude and King Los.
What makes this artist a force to be reckoned with in the industry is his different approach to making music. Heavily influenced by 50 Cent, Kanye West, Wiz Khalifa, and more, his songs are a fusion of witty lyrics and punchlines, topped with an aggressive southern bounce. Working with a certain flair, Squalla hopes to expand his reach, connect with his fans, and tour around the world.
Besides his artistic pursuits, Squalla just entered the entrepreneurial scene by starting a clothing line, Eightynine90, with his brother, MC Beezy. He is planning to open up a storefront soon.
For Squalla, nothing is more fulfilling than seeing oneself achieve his or her dreams. By sharing his stories, he invites everyone to break free from their limitations and chase their dreams.
