‘The King of Cream’: How Preston Bradley Found Success Amidst Grueling Challenges

Life isn’t always a bed of roses. There will be ups and downs, but it’s ultimately how one responds to the challenges that makes or breaks someone. Preston Bradley should be next on the list for a story about overcoming obstacles, pushing forward and achieving success.

Preston Bradley, or “The King of Cream,” as people know him now, is a comedian, actor, and social media influencer. He has become a massive success on the latest social media craze, TikTok. In a short time, he has grown his following to over 3.5 million followers and counting. However, the most significant thing about his platform has to be his comedy style, which has inspired a generation of teens to call themselves “Creamsters.”

Getting to where he is today was far from easy. While in school, he always thought that he would become a professional athlete. The actor and influencer was scouted to play soccer for several top D1 colleges. However, as he was going through that journey, Bradley realized that sports wasn’t going to satisfy him. Instead, he wanted to pursue comedy.

“I started taking classes at Second City Chicago, and realized making people laugh was greater than any natural high I got from playing sports,” explains Bradley. “The experience of performing on stage was nothing like I had ever felt.”

Fast forward to 2014, the actor started getting his name around the local film scene in Chicago, but understood he needed to move to Los Angeles for better opportunities. Upon moving to LA, he juggled several part-time jobs, such as delivering food on a bike and making pizzas. Frustrated at the inability to be creative, Bradley quit those jobs to pursue acting full time. He started networking with casting directors and was able to book several projects, such as a recurring background role on WILL AND GRACE and a stand-in role on THE MINDY PROJECT.

By the end of 2020, he chose to get into TikTok and content creation. The first few months yielded little, but career-wise things began to look up for him. Preston Bradley was asked to stand-in for Lil Dicky on the FX show, DAVE. As a result, he was able to work from November 2020 to March 2021 on the show, while creating content on TikTok in his free time.

Preston Bradley gained notoriety by creating a character called “The King of Cream,” whose frequently used catch phrase “That’s so creamy,” became an internet meme. Although he was banned eleven times for his controversial content, the consistent support from his fans allowed his edgy comedy to overcome obstacles and reach a greater audience.

With a bright future ahead, Preston Bradley is optimistic about appearing in movies and TV shows. In addition, he hopes to own a production company with his brother to create content that will inspire the next generation of comedians.
