But some artists choose to take another route to achieve their dreams and look to genuinely collaborate and support other artists on the way to the top. Such is the case for rapper, songwriter, and label owner Rico Gotti who is carrying others on his shoulders as he builds a robust case for his music.
“I want to help people within my community, and I want to provide opportunities for those around me, so everyone succeeds,” shares the rapper on a mission. “My music career is a gateway to help others as well.” Pharles Davis, aka Rico Gotti, is an artist and entrepreneur who has been steadily rising since 2016. He is the founder of We Won’t Fold Entertainment, a music production and promotion brand that’s been steadily creating more momentum for the owner and lead artist. But more critical for Rico is the fact that he’s been carrying other artists along for the ride as he makes his way down “Music Greatness Lane.”
It has only taken Rico Gotti five years to accomplish what many artists would only trade a limb for to reach in a few decades. And through the success, the rapper isn’t holding any secrets. Apart from remaining authentic as a person, he remains transparent, offering up all he knows about the music industry and how to create a strong presence on digital platforms and beyond to any artists seeking mentorship and guidance. “I love teaching other artists everything that I know and currently learning about the music industry so that they are better prepared,” adds Rico Gotti. And for all the generosity and support he has displayed for fellow artists, he has made a strong impression in the local music scene.
Long has it been a culture in music circles to keep to one’s own. But Rico Gotti noticed early on that those who made it big in music were more than ready to collaborate with others. Moreover, he adds that it’s in the selfless displays that he gains the most satisfaction. The artist shares that he had no regrets when he chose this path to music stardom. It hasn’t been without its fair share of issues and challenges as not all people might share the same philosophy, but he remains steadfast to take this journey less traveled and win, knowing he helped others win along the way.
Rico Gotti is also a prolific writer and musician who regularly drops beats that easily stand out in the noise. His songs carry the harmonious rhythm between soulful R&B and heavy-lifting rap. And while that mixture sounds like a paradox waiting on disaster, Rico carries it well and does more than make it work.
