This year’s MTV Movie & TV Awards have started, and golden trophies were given to the rightful candidates.
The show hosted by Vanessa Hudgens for this year’s event went off without a hitch! The show’s beginning saw Sophia DiMartino win the Breakthrough Performance award for her performance in Loki, besting formidable candidates such as Licorice Pizza’s Alana Haim, West Side Story’s Ariana DeBose, Hack’s Einbinder, and Squid Game’s Jung Ho-Yeon.
This year, the music awards show has introduced two new categories to recognize exceptional tracks and artists – Best Song and Here for the Hookup. On top of that, new categories on the unscripted side include Best Reality Return, Best Music Documentary, Best Reality Romance, and Best Reality Star.
Jennifer Lopez will be given the Generation Award for her contributions to music, while Jack Black takes home a Comedic Genius prize.
