Marie-Louise Boisnier is no new name in the musical and movie scene of Broadway. She is a New York Based Actress and Singer. Born Slovakian, French and raised in England.
Marie-Louise Boisnier has had a passion for the stage from a young age, starting with her lead role in “The Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat” at the age of twelve. She went on to get another lead role the following year as Anna in “The King and I”. Marie-Louise’s talent did not go unnoticed as she was pulled aside by her English Teacher who had come to see the show, who had later arranged a private audition with conductor Richard Cooke who led The National Youth Choir. The performer was welcomed into the choir with open arms and soon found herself to be a great asset to the group and even led a solo singing “Silent Night” at The Royal Albert Hall, with over 5,272 people in attendance. This success led her to go on and study Musical Theatre at LAMDA. Marie-Louise Boisnier went on to train at The Lee Strasberg Institute of Film and The Academy in New York City.
Now, Marie-Loiuse Boisnier can be found on stage at The Triad Theatre in New York City, performing Bound for Broadway with a packed house and even being streamed live by fans from around the world. She sang alongside other great talents such as Lilla Crawford who starred in the movie, Into The Woods (2014).
In 2022 Bound for Broadway was nominated at the Broadway World Cabaret awards for Best Variety Show, Best Director, and Best Ensemble Vocalist. The show is known for its high standards in selecting vocalists, receiving numerous application requests daily, and always seeking the next enormous talent. Among the hundreds of applicants, Marie-Louise Boisnier took the stage in front of a sold-out audience. The performance received applause and consisted of two songs, “A Million Dreams” from The Greatest Showman and “Popular” from the musical Wicked.
For the first song, Marie-Louise kept it sentimental and soft, while the second was full of energy and included a dance routine with rose petals sprinkled on the front row audience for a lucky few (a total surprise!) during the chorus. It was a memorable night, with two well-known casting directors sitting in front row, Peter Dunn from The Telsey Office and Bobby Holder of Bright Artists Management, eager to speak with Marie-Louise afterward.
Marie-Louise Boisnier can also be seen in the new upcoming comedy musical, “Dream On Baransky!” set to begin March 22nd at the Off Broadway Cullum Theatre at The American Theatre Of Actors. She is set to play Lyla Cummings, a hilarious British character who is dying to tie the knot to Mr Baransky!
In New York, Ms. Boisnier has played several roles, including Marilyn Monroe in Jackie Marilyn Marilyn Jackie, Miss Sherlene in At Least He Didn’t Die with No Antlers On His Head, and Toni in Staten Island The Musical among several others. Aswell as back in London, her credits include The Narrator in Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor DreamCoat, , Meatloaf in We Will Rock You, Paulette in Legally Blonde, Leni in Joseph K, and Anna in the King and I (picture above).
For Marie-Louise Boisnier, Musical Theatre has always been an essential aspect of her life, and the pandemic allowed her to fully develop her own original songs! She is also set to perform another one of her own sets this time at Chelsea+Table in the spring where she shall be performing alongside Dan Pardo, a pianist and dear friend. She will be singing her own original scores as well as covers! Keep your eyes peeled!
