Andrea Londo is not waiting for Hollywood to decide her future.
Best known for her breakthrough role as Maria Salazar in Netflix’s Narcos, she has steadily built a résumé that spans network television, indie film, and even theater. Now, in addition to acting, she is producing her own projects through Two Lands, a production company she co-founded to champion stories that Hollywood often overlooks.
From San Diego and Tijuana to the Screen
Born in San Diego and raised in Tijuana, Londo spent eighteen years crossing the border every day to attend school in the United States. That upbringing shaped her worldview and gave her the resilience to tackle an industry where few paths are straightforward.
She has been open about the fact that she never attended acting school. Instead, she relied on persistence, sending headshots and cover letters to agents, convincing her parents to let her move to Los Angeles by telling them she was enrolling at USC, and working her way into rooms where opportunities could happen.
Her gamble paid off. When she auditioned for Narcos, she landed the role that would introduce her to international audiences. Playing Maria Salazar opposite Pedro Pascal in the third season of the series, she brought a sharp intensity that made her stand out.
Lessons in Resilience
Even with momentum on her side, Londo quickly learned that Hollywood can be unpredictable. She was cast as Carnalita in Mayans MC, the Sons of Anarchy spinoff, only to be recast three days before filming began because of a scheduling conflict while she was still shooting Narcos.
“It’s been one of the hardest lessons of my acting career thus far, but only motivated me that much more,” she later said.
That lesson fueled her determination. Just days after Christmas, she recalls receiving a call from her manager telling her that producer Joel Silver wanted to meet. “I asked for a copy of the current Superfly script to read beforehand and went in thinking Joel would be super tough and hard to impress. I sat down and he said, ‘Listen Andrea, I really want you to do this movie.’ And I was in Atlanta a week later.”
The result was her role as Cynthia in the 2018 Superfly remake, adding a major studio film to her growing list of credits.
Credits That Cross Genres
Londo’s career has been marked by variety. In addition to Narcos and Superfly, she has appeared in TIFF selection Good Egg, Dreaming Grand Avenue, The Free Fall, and Adventure Tom, an indie road dramedy with theatrical release. She has proven she can pivot between studio projects, independent films, and character-driven stories without losing her voice.
Television remains a core part of her career. She currently recurs in CBS’s Matlock, playing Simone, a junior associate at the law firm at the center of the show. The reimagined drama, starring Kathy Bates, puts her work in front of mainstream network audiences and adds another layer of credibility to her résumé.
Even theater has had a place in her journey. During the SAG-AFTRA strike, she joined Bobby Junior Soto and Clayton Cardenas in José Rivera’s Cloud Tectonics, taking on the role of Celestina del Sol. For Londo, theater was both a challenge and a chance to reconnect with the rawest form of performance.

Two Lands and a Bigger Vision
In 2025, Andrea Londo and her husband, producer Greg Bekkers, launched Two Lands, an independent production company dedicated to cross-cultural and outsider stories. The company’s mission is to tell character-driven films that carry both festival potential and international reach.
The slate is already in motion. Upcoming projects include Silver, starring Londo opposite Nat Wolff and directed by Joshua Michael Stern (Jobs), produced by Sundance-winning Luz Films. She is also producing and starring in By The Toe, an elevated horror thriller directed by Georgi Unkovski, who won at Sundance earlier this year. Production is scheduled for 2026. Meanwhile, Adventure Tom continues its rollout in theaters with multi-territory distribution, and a pilot backed by Two Lands recently premiered at the New York Latino Film Festival.
Launching a company was not a side project but a natural extension of her career. By producing, Londo is not only creating roles for herself but also shaping the kinds of narratives she wants to see in Hollywood. It is a move that places her in rare company, often compared to Margot Robbie’s LuckyChap model, though Londo’s path reflects her own experiences and priorities.
Identity as a Strength
Throughout her career, Andrea has drawn from her bicultural background. Her perspective, formed by life on both sides of the border, has shaped the roles she gravitates toward and the stories she develops.
“Growing up as a border child taught me that I don’t have to choose between being Mexican and American. Carrying both cultures is my strength, and it shapes the way I tell stories on screen,” she has said. “Being raised on both sides of the border gave me the courage to cross boundaries in my own career. I see acting as a bridge between languages, cultures, and people.”
That bridge, she argues, is not just personal but creative. It allows her to work across genres, collaborate with filmmakers from diverse backgrounds, and develop material that feels authentic to her.
Recognition and Next Chapters
Media outlets have taken notice. The Hollywood Reporter, Deadline, HuffPost, and People have all profiled her, including People’s coverage of her 2024 wedding in France. Her combination of credits, producing ambitions, and cultural perspective makes her a compelling subject for journalists and fans alike.
As she looks ahead, Andrea Londo is balancing multiple tracks: the ongoing demands of acting, the creative challenge of producing, and the responsibility of building a company. It is an ambitious undertaking, but one that reflects both her resilience and her refusal to wait for permission.
Andrea Londo is already established as an actress. With Two Lands, she is shaping the future as a producer. That dual role, built on persistence and vision, makes her one of the voices to watch as Hollywood slowly broadens the stories it tells.
