After 30 productive and exciting years in the entertainment industry, actor and seasoned comedian Keith Ross Nelson is still making audiences laugh uncontrollably in his shows. Even as the demographics in his audiences have changed over the years, he is interestingly attracting a different group of individuals who have a deep appreciation for his uncommon sense of humor.
Throughout his successful career as a gifted entertainer, Keith Ross Nelson has had the privilege of performing in all 50 states in the country and many parts of the world. He has performed around the world to boost the morale of the country’s troops while away from their families. Additionally, Nelson has performed in many comedy clubs, colleges, and cruise ships.
“My act is unique in that it talks about being at the beginning of old and poking fun at dealing with being or getting old, yet the material and act feels young, smart, cool, and hip. Young 25- to 30-year-old people respond to my material best. People comment it’s like watching a cool old Dad do stand-up,” Keith Nelson explains.
His colorful career allowed him to be part of two independent films, Mobsters and Mormons and The R.M. In 2018, he wrote eight episodes of the T.V. series Not for Nothin’. Keith Ross Nelson co-created the T.V. series alongside Jimmy DellaValle and Tim Homayoon. The hit TV series is a comedy about three blue-collar best friends who are comedians and actors. As the three live out their day-to-day LA routines, they would often meet over lunch to discuss the many odd jobs they have had to endure just to keep their dreams alive. The series is a realistic depiction of the travails of many aspiring comedians and actors in the entertainment industry.
Keith Ross Nelson is also best known for his performance on the Hulu comedy show Comedy Time as well as A and E’s An Evening at the Improv. He has also been previously featured on Entertainment Tonight.
Aside from his admirable career as a comedian and actor, Keith Ross Nelson also tried other pursuits and interestingly became a Masters High Jump age group record holder and three-time national champion. Aside from these achievements, his fans would be more surprised to know that he recently obtained a third-degree black belt in kung fu. He did all these not just to experience new things as an individual, but also to set an example to other people: that they can still pursue other goals even as they mature in life.
At this point in his career and personal life, Keith Ross Nelson is all about embracing his aging journey. By using his personal experiences as inspiration for his knock out jokes and punchlines, he is showing the world that growing old does not have to be boring. Instead, people can see it from a better perspective and start enjoying this inevitable season instead of working so hard to delay it.
