Gyms have always been the venue of choice for people who want to lose weight, challenge themselves, and feel healthier. With many people only having an hour or so per week to dedicate to their fitness though, trainers in gyms simply cannot provide customers with the proper education to help them in their fitness journeys. Enter Shannon Salge, a professional trainer who wants to give more to her clients. Shannon has pinpointed the problem and developed a solution, engineering her online fitness program, Shannon Salge Fitness.
Shannon Salge is an online health and fitness coach specializing in women’s weight loss. She boasts a colorful resume, having spent over a decade in the health and fitness industry, empowering women to ditch restrictive dieting mindsets and guiding them to figure out the root cause of their gut and hormone imbalances. Her professional success is a result of perseverance and hard work, having graduated with two degrees in kinesiology before becoming a NASM certified personal trainer, Functional Nutrition and Metabolic Specialist, and STOTT-certified Pilates instructor.
Shannon first recognized the limit of her influence in the gym when she was working as a manager at an upscale commercial gym. “I realized there was a gap with how much I could help my clients,” she said. “Seeing them for one or two hours a week, I wasn’t able to provide them with the kind of education and extra accountability that they deserved.”
Looking to fill the gap, Shannon developed her online business to offer more support, education, and communication to help her clients reach their goals. Shannon’s L.E.A.N. Body Blueprint lays a foundation that has helped women lose weight, get toned, and regain their confidence in their bodies.
Shannon Salge’s resolve can be traced to her own experience, having gone through severe gut and hormone issues, weight loss resistance, and body image issues, to name a few. Several years ago she was also diagnosed with ankylosing spondylitis, an autoimmune disorder which causes inflammation, pain, and fusion of the bones in the spine.
“In a short time I went from being a professional dancer and first-place bodybuilding competitor to being diagnosed with AS and being crippled with a cane, relying on heavy medications just to function,” revealed Shannon. “This is why I take a holistic approach to clients’ body transformation journey. I believe it is not all about nutrition and exercise but also about your mental health and addressing potential underlying issues.”
When asked about one thing she wants women to know, she responded, “just because you have tried something in the past that has not worked does not mean you can’t succeed. There is no one-size-fits-all solution to fitness. Every person is unique, with their own history, preferences, limitations, and strengths. Make sure you have a trainer that takes all of that into consideration.”
