Deep Alarik is a dynamic musician and sound designer whose journey in music began at the age of 15, sparked by his first encounter with Iron Maiden’s album “Dance of Death.” This pivotal moment set him on a path filled with rock ‘n’ roll aspirations, leading him to pick up the guitar and embrace the iconic styles of long hair, denim, and leather jackets. As he matured, Alarik expanded his musical horizons by delving into underground genres such as No-wave, Noise, and Krautrock, drawing inspiration from influential bands like Amon Düül, Can, Brian Eno, and Neu! This exploration ignited his passion for sound design and synthesizers, revealing endless possibilities.
Alarik has had numerous memorable experiences collaborating with bands in India and Los Angeles. He finds great fulfillment in performing for fans who spend their time and money to experience his music. DIY shows, where the team sets up the venue early in the day to create a welcoming space for the audience, make these moments especially meaningful.
His approach to mixing traditional instruments with modern genres, like the sitar, reflects his creative vision. Alarik finds joy in layering sitar sounds with synthesizers and guitars, resulting in unique soundscapes that continually amaze him. However, blending traditional sounds with contemporary music presents challenges, particularly in tuning the sitar, which requires careful attention to the strings and notes to align with the genre.
Describing his music as an eclectic fusion, Alarik emphasizes simplicity in songwriting, aiming to create minimalistic pieces that resonate with the listener’s state of mind. He recalls two standout projects: Fourmyle’s Circus, where each performance was a unique exploration of sound, and a post-production endeavor focused on emulating arena sounds.

Experimentation is a cornerstone of Alarik’s creative process, exemplified by his current project, “How Writers Think.” This experimental instrumental venture allows each song to tell a story, inviting listeners to create narratives based on the music.
While navigating commercial projects, Deep strives to maintain his creative vision by balancing his love for metal and underground music with the demands of contemporary sounds. He believes every collaboration is unique, as diverse minds come together to craft something extraordinary.
Reflecting on the music industry’s evolution, Alarik notes the shift from traditional label backing to artists’ independence in producing quality music from home. He encourages aspiring musicians to embrace post-production as a challenge, recognizing its essential role in creating impactful music.
Culturally, Alarik’s roots play a significant role in his compositions, with the sitar symbolizing his desire to blend Western music influences with Indian classical traditions. His creative process often begins with a riff developed during practice, using a drone and tabla for rhythm, followed by layering other instruments.
Alarik is excited about future collaborations with artists from different backgrounds, including Isabella Freedom from Finland and ARKAENIN from Texas. He envisions his music evolving through these global connections, reinforcing that while languages may differ, communication through sound transcends all barriers.
