Chinese American MD, executive movie producer, and actress Dr. Yu decided to get involved in Hollywood because, as an actor, you can become whoever you want to be. The daily life as an MD is something Suzanne has dedicated her life to, and she has made many sacrifices which she is proud of. She considers her work as an Anesthesiologist her life. Hollywood is her escape to act in roles that fit her style and talents. As a Hollywood Executive Movie Producer, Suzanne went immediately to the top and invested in the film The Comeback Trail with three oscar winning actors, Robert DeNiro, Tommy Lee, and Morgan Freeman, which immediately put Dr. Yu into the A list PowerHouse category. Once word got out about her involvement in the film, the offers rolled in to get involved in other film projects. Suzanne is a Chinese Traditional Dancer and happens to be a good actress and had the opportunity to showcase her talents when she was scouted by director Robert J. Morgalo who asked her to perform a dance scene and star in his film The Companion. Suzanne has been modeling for the past two years and doing photo shoots for several magazine covers that have booked her as a cover girl. Robert recognized her beauty and shot her for the movie poster promoting the film. The film is a Twilight Zone-style short Sci-Fi that he wrote and directed via Outhouse Production Films. Dr. Yu’s modeling career as a cover girl and the face of Tiffany & Co’s Emerald Collection on the Luxury Trending Magazine cover has really taken off; she has graced the covers of Showbiz, Lavishly, Max Health, Luxury Trending, Dressy, and more. Dr. Yu has been published in endless magazines, telling her story as a self-made woman in the medical field and now in Hollywood. We met up with her to ask a few questions about her success.

  1. Tell us about your Hollywood experiences to date that you are most proud of?

“The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams. Being an executive movie producer and seeing the film I helped to produce on the big screen was the most satisfying experience, getting to know the actors and listening to their life stories and struggles they have been through. Yet they strive to fulfill their dreams, which is making great films, which I am proud that I was able to facilitate and help to make their dreams come true.”

  1. What inspires you as an actress?

“The great films tell us great stories; they teach us, inspire us, make us happy or sad while we watch them. As a child, I loved being on the stage singing and dancing, even with my busy schedule as a doctor. I have always been practicing what my passion is as a performer. I am a true believer that you can do anything in this world as long as you are driven to pursue your happiness.”

  1. How did you start dancing?

“I have always been very fond of traditional Chinese music; the way it makes me feel is just beyond the words I can explain. One day a friend of mine told me she was going for a dance class in Queens, NY. I said I wanted to go with her, and from that moment, I was in love with the Chinese Traditional dances; it touched my soul.

  1. Tell us about your charity work?

“My Charity is Yu Can Foundation – I came to this country from China with my doctorate degree. I was ambitious and wanted to succeed in life, so I worked really hard, and to everyone’s surprise, including my mom, I became a successful doctor in America. My tough experience taught me one thing, that with an education, [the] skies [are] the limit. I started this foundation to give underprivileged children the same opportunity to be educated. College tuition today is very expensive, and my charity offers funding, so they have the same privileges to become successful with their minds.

  1. How do you feel in front of a camera?

I am very natural in front of a camera. I felt exhilarated when I delivered my lines while shooting “The Companion,” which was my first film as an actress. I was honored to be working with the director and other great talented actors who taught me their personal techniques in acting.

  1. What’s next as an Executive movie producer

Once The Bag Man is a great script my boyfriend Kenneth Simmons wrote. He is a Producer & Actor and I will be the executive producer for the film.
