DeMille Award during the 2018 Golden Globe Awards, Oprah Winfrey pointed out in her speech that people are in control of their destiny and that their lives are shaped by the choices they make. She wants to send across the powerful message that one’s future is the result of how he or she chooses to move forward in the face of adversity.
As can be gleaned from her eventful journey, Oprah Winfrey reached the pinnacles of success because of her unwavering commitment and perseverance in pursuing her goals. Looking back, she had every reason to surrender. However, she always believed that the world had better plans for her. True enough, she became one of the best people this world has ever seen.
