Every artist dreams of the chance to have their art come to life and showcased to the whole world. And in this growing age of technology and social media, innovators are finding ways to make that dream a reality for many artists.
One such group of innovators are the people behind Pink Arts Peace Productions, Inc. (PAPPI), a production company that gives artists a platform to share their art with the world. Born in a time of self-discovery, the vision of PAPPIi came to its Founder, Sunflower Duran back in the early 2000s. While digging deep, the production company emerged from three artistic ideas she loved most: the color pink, the value for arts, and a desire to see peace in the world. Hence, the name Pink Arts Peace.
Sunflower is a SAG-AFTRA actress who graduated from the Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development at New York University. The artist has worked in marketing for many years, but her love for the arts always drove her back to more freestyle creative output. Her passion for the arts came early on in life and has followed her until this day. She found her sweet spot as an actress when she was thirteen years old and has been acting ever since.
PAPPI works to provide artists the team and resources they need to bring art to life. PAPPI is continuously on the lookout for concepts, scripts, songs, and any creative output that needs to come to life. PAPPI has helped bring to life various songs, music videos, online shows, and films. Sean Hardy Directory of Photography, David Jung Producer and Syed Mohammed Zain Marketing Director are an integral part of the PAPPI team.
Last year, PAPPI helped bring an artist’s dream to life by teaming with composer Jesse Nicholas Manzione to record and release “I Flip Thou,” a single that became a local hit. The project gave life to the hip-hop group Chasing Mermaids and to more hit tracks, including “Boys,” “Sunny D TV,” and “Pappi.” The group features artists Michael J. Peterson, aka Big Mike the Emcee, Ryan Rodriguez-Wiggins (the Wig as called by his friends,) aka Paradox, and Sunflower, aka Sunny D on the Mic. Dini on the beats and IRA on the mixing board collaboratively create the distinctive sound of Chasing Mermaids. Collectively, Chasing Mermaids’ songs have gathered over 100,000 downloads across various platforms in less than a year.
Today, PAPPI is currently working to bring to life a feature film titled The Diary of Kate the Ripper, a tale that follows a modern-day Jack the Ripper, whose multiple personality disorders bring a level of intrigue. The film comes from the vision of the writer and director Eddy Sanchez, who recently joined the production company with the intent of exponentially growing with PAPPI. The film is PAPPI’s largest and most ambitious project to date and shows great promise of becoming a major motion picture that people everywhere will enjoy.
The production company also looks forward to launching the theatrical production–Women of Manhattan. The project brings together the work of writer John Patrick Shanley, actor Antonette Leonie, Nicole Miranda, David Jung, and Kingsley Nwaogu. Sunflower has also joined the production as one of the cast members and lead. The production has pledged a portion of the show’s proceeds to Rebuilding Together North Jersey. The organization seeks to provide resources to people who have no financial means to maintain their homes.
In a short amount of time, PAPPI has grown from a dream shared among friends to a full-fledged production business with a mission to bring the arts to life. To learn more about Pink Arts Peace Productions Inc, visit the production’s website, Instagram, and Facebook page.
