Rising Musician Will Buck Sheds Light on the Endeavors That Eventually Led to His Progress in the Music Industry

The journey into the music industry is never as easy as most people believe, and it often requires those who wish to succeed to undergo one of the most grueling journeys. Yet, despite how exhausting it can be, the results are immensely rewarding. Nobody knows this better than rising artist Will Buck.

Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, and currently based in Los Angeles, Will Buck is an alternative singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who has endured trials and tribulations to reach where he is today. The journey shaped the musical style he is known for today, polishing his lyricism and giving him the experience needed to create relatable stories that can reach out to other people going through similar endeavors.

Early into his career, Will relocated from Baltimore to Colorado, forming a high-energy rock and roll band, West Water Outlaws. With the band, the young artist lived a remarkable life in his early twenties. Working alongside them, West Water Outlaws went on the road for over a hundred days a year throughout the country.

Although the journey sounds like a dream come true, the entire endeavor was more taxing than most people imagine. Will and the band slept on hotel room floors, worked odd jobs, and played three-hour bar sets for modest fees and some food. In addition, the artist cut his teeth as a performer, performing on stages in small dive bars around the country.

The West Water Outlaws spent over five years building their brand, transitioning from playing parties in their basement to selling out venues and appearing at major festivals. Unfortunately, while they had the potential to make it big, the band broke up virtually overnight before they were to play the biggest show of their careers, sign a management deal, and land various network television placements.

The disbandment was difficult, particularly for Will Buck, who was left with little. Without any other options, the artist sold the majority of his possessions and decided to pack up his truck to head west. Will had decided to spend a year on a solo journey of rediscovery.

During his days alone, the artist was able to stay afloat, surviving with seasonal work, busking, and entertaining tourists in remote locations. Although he had his hands full, Will never lost sight of what he wanted. Despite juggling a hectic schedule, he continued to release music. But at the time, he decided to keep his real name under wraps and released his works under the alias Gypsee.

Will’s journey would later lead him to a small beach town in eastern Australia, but by then, the artist decided it was time to come home. Moving back to Los Angeles, the artist sought a second chance. Although he was in a financially difficult situation, Will had a determined attitude and used the little resources, connections, and money to get himself on the right path. He packaged T-shirts in an apparel warehouse during the days and used his freedom to write and record demos at night.

While it took some time, Will Buck was able to announce himself as a solo artist in 2019, and he was able to rise through the DIY music scene in Los Angeles. From there, he would release multiple EPs and appear in countless shows.

Recently, Will partnered with Grammy-nominated, Billboard-charting super-producer Stonebridge to produce an EDM remix of “Wolves in the Back House.” The track’s success paved the way for his later career, and today Will is looking forward to a brighter year.
