After Adele dominated the Brits Awards this year, she appeared at club Heaven on Thursday with Cheryl Hole. The two expertly judged in tandem for a stripping competition before Adele headed over to perform a pole dance.
Adele has always been an LGBTQ icon. She was welcomed into the community from day one, and she’s never turned down opportunities to show her support for drag queens. In return, drag queens portray her throughout the years, including Taylor Swift’s “You Need to Calm Down” music video.
When Adele hit the stage at G-A -Y Porn Idol to converse with host Cheryl Hole and assist in picking out a winner for that evening’s stripping contest, she may have already hardened her icon status.
In selecting the winner, Hole gave Adele a heads up to choose, saying, “You can have the final say, you’re f*cking Adele.” Adele, among the world’s best-selling music artists, responded by repeating the words she said when receiving the Artist of the Year award at the Brits.
She told the young woman she had just crowned Porn Idol victor, “We love being females, don’t we?” And added, “F*cking love being females.”
To top it all off, the superstar provided a pole dancing performance to the crowd. She showed everyone how it’s done with a graceful sequence of spin and squat. The crowd was cheering for her in amazement.
Hole took to social media to upload pictures of them together after the event. “Confirmed: @Adele was devastated I was eliminated on Drag Race too. Love you divalina,” said the drag queen in an Instagram post. Check out the video of Adele pole dancing on Twitter.
