Get ready for a bloody good time this Easter. Leading independent feature film distributor Gravitas Ventures has slated Diane Foster‘s horror-comedy “Easter Bloody Easter” for release in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. This outrageous and timely film, directed by and starring Foster and produced by her WallyBird Productions, is set to hit VOD platforms on March 26th, just in time for the holiday.

Foster says, “Reminiscent of the iconic ‘Rocky Horror Picture Show,’ ‘Easter Bloody Easter’ doesn’t just exist within the realm of holiday horror; it truly knows what it is and carves its own path. Get ready to witness an Easter like never before—a celebration of the unexpected.”

Audiences will need to hold onto their Easter baskets. This humorous romp throws a bloodthirsty Jackalope into the mix, forcing a Texas housewife to fight for her life, her husband, and the soul of her town.

“Easter Bloody Easter” marks Foster’s directorial debut and is also a noteworthy achievement for women in filmmaking. The film boasts a 95% female-identifying crew and earned the ReFrame Stamp from Women in Film for its commitment to gender parity in production.

This dedication to inclusivity extends beyond the camera, as the film features a diverse cast, including Kelly Grant, Allison Lobel (who also wrote the screenplay), Zuri Starks, D’Andre Noiré, and Gavin Lee, among many others.

“Gravitas Ventures is delighted to be releasing this hilarious horror romp,” says Mackenzie Maguire, Acquisition Manager at Gravitas Ventures. “Diane Foster shines as the director and star of this film. We are eager to share this film with North American audiences in time for Easter.”

The acquisition deal was negotiated by Maguire on behalf of Gravitas Ventures with Ryan Bury of MPX Films representing the filmmakers. With Gravitas’ established reach, “Easter Bloody Easter” is poised to become a notable Easter tradition, offering audiences a special blend of horror, humor, and female empowerment.

The film is further elevated by a catchy soundtrack composed by award-winning BMI Composer Mark Vogel. Featuring over 75 original music pieces, including 10 full songs, the soundtrack promises to be a sing-along sensation.

The film’s legendary Monster, the killer Jackalope, was created in Diane Foster’s vision of a hilarious yet scary oversized “Bunny Deer,” conceived by Foster and made by Alexandra Bayless (daughter of Emmy award-winning makeup artist John Bayless)Ashley StansburyLydia Morales and Nick Reisinger.

The iconic demon bunnies were created by Jesse Velez of Raptor House FX, who are known for creating the infamous “Hand” from Netflix’sWednesday,” starring Jenna Ortega.

The classic Sound Design for “Easter Bloody Easter” was created by 5-time Emmy awardwinning sound designer Paca Thomas, mixed at Advantage Audio Post and colored at the prestigious ArsenalFX Color by colorist Andrew Starnes.

Get ready to scream, sing, and laugh along when “Easter Bloody Easter” premieres at the Landmark Nuart Theater in Los Angeles on March 21st before hopping onto VOD platforms nationwide on March 26th.
