Born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Jamie Smith is a successful serial entrepreneur. Before becoming who she is today, Jamie Smith was a sought-after basketball star who was highly recruited. With over 20 Division 1 scholarship offers from different schools, becoming a captain and starting point guard, and leading a team to the first-ever postseason play in history, she was on the top of her game despite roadblocks and setbacks along the way.

In spite of exemplifying as a basketball star, achieving happiness in the pursuit of her goals, and actually receiving several offers to play professional basketball overseas, Jamie decided not to accept any offers for the sake of her health. She knew she was succeeding, but she was also aware that deciding to be a professional basketball player would put her at risk and make her physically suffer later on. This big decision is a milestone in achieving something greater than what she already had.

Jamie Smith entered the entertainment industry. With her natural networking skills, she began managing artists and talents, quickly blowing up her name in the industry. Working with celebrities and famous individuals and establishing her name in the entertainment industry did not satisfy her thirst for growth. She decided to pursue Business Administration while assisting a women’s basketball team program.

While simultaneously managing her artists, executive producing over four albums during this time, Smith was acknowledged as one of the top up-and-coming Division 1 recruiters. She was exemplifying, but she also knew that she can be more. With all of the skills that Jamie has, she decided to build Katalxst, LLC, her very own company.

Expanding from a business consultant, diversity and inclusion training, web programming, project management, accounting, and business management, talent and brand management services to adding a barbershop in her hometown, along with a lifestyle clothing brand and real estate business, Jamie Smith offers a wide range of services complementing her well-rounded talents. Despite the struggles brought by the pandemic, the Katalxst House of Styles continuously grows and succeeds in the field.

Jamie Smith undoubtedly chose the best course she could take in life. Katalxst Lifestyle clothing brand proves this by being the most successful brand under Katalxst, LLC, and she is currently planning to build a creative studio and athletic and training facility, which is expected to open in 2023.

While choosing the best course surely awaits success, Jamie Smith’s journey was never an easy feat. Consequently losing loved ones and fighting through depression, she has experienced being on the lowest, which inspired her to be a person for others, a mental health advocate. Motivating others as she motivated herself, she shared her struggles, mental health issues, and her experiences in overcoming them. She published motivational books and is currently planning to provide scholarships to high school students seeking college funding.
